In the beginning…

There I was, casually surfing the web and saw an advertisement for a beginners carving class in my town. “Well, why not!” I said, so I signed up. That day we made caroling mice, and instantly I was hooked! I absolutely loved it! Not only the carving it’s self but the creating, the personalization, the precision and the outcome. It was what I needed in life!

So I sought out my resources. Chapter’s books, Lee Valley supplies, and anyone that had carving books, magazines or tools was next on my list. I subscribed to many publications, bought a handful of books, and then started buying tools.

Yeah, I know what they say, “Don’t buy ‘til you try.”

Funny thing is I still use all of the tools I originally bought all those years ago. And from what I have read, if you buy tools without finding your “niche” it is simply going to be a waste of money.

Well once more, as with my heart issue, I showed them! I found my niche right off the bat, and now I am ready to help you find your niche too!

If you were lucky like me and you know what works for you, then let this site inspire you, aid you, teach you, or inform you. And if you know something that I don’t, then please, please, PLEASE tell me!!! I’m always on the look out for new ideas or ways of improving my favorite activity, carving!
